<em>un'elevata capacit\u00e0<\/em> <strong><em>biocida<\/em><\/strong>, utilizzato esclusivamente nella depurazione delle acque e nel trattamento dell'acqua <strong>potabile.<\/strong> Il biossido di cloro <em>\u00e8 incluso nell'art. 95 del <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/ES\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX%3A32012R0528\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Regolamento UE sui biocidi 528\/2012<\/a> come principio attivo<\/em>.<i><\/i> <\/p><p>Il ClO2 ha un'emivita breve una volta generato, quindi il modo pi\u00f9 comune per ottenerlo \u00e8 in situ, mescolando clorito di sodio, liquido o granulato, con un acido debole.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 text-left\">\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<p>Il biossido di cloro viene utilizzato dal <strong>1944<\/strong> per il trattamento delle acque negli impianti pubblici di tutto il mondo. Grazie alle sue <strong>qualit\u00e0 ossidanti selettive,<\/strong> la sua applicazione \u00e8 un'alternativa da considerare quando, oltre alla disinfezione, \u00e8 necessario migliorare la qualit\u00e0 organolettica dell'acqua.<\/p><p>Inoltre, \u00e8 in grado <strong>di rimuovere ferro e manganese<\/strong> e altri composti che conferiscono colore e sapore<em>(1).<\/em> <\/p><p>Gli studi dimostrano che \u00e8 <strong>pi\u00f9 efficace<\/strong> come disinfettante del <strong>cloro<\/strong> in tutte le circostanze <strong>contro gli agenti patogeni<\/strong> presenti nell'acqua, come virus, batteri e protozoi <em>(2).<\/em><\/p><p>D'altra parte, a differenza di altri prodotti, il biossido di cloro \u00e8 efficace in un <strong>intervallo<\/strong> molto <strong>ampio<\/strong> di valori di <strong>pH<\/strong> (4-10)<em>(3)(5).<\/em> Il suo potere ossidante \u00e8 superiore a quello del cloro, della cloramina e dello iodio ed \u00e8 molto pi\u00f9 efficace dell'ozono in acque gi\u00e0 inquinate grazie alla sua efficacia a basse concentrazioni. Inoltre, la sua <strong>elevata solubilit\u00e0<\/strong> in acqua gli consente di agire per un certo periodo di tempo, il che rappresenta un grande vantaggio rispetto all'ozono, che evapora istantaneamente e richiede un'applicazione costante nel tempo (4).<em><\/em><\/p><p>Uno dei principali vantaggi dell'uso del biossido di cloro \u00e8 che <strong>riduce la formazione di sottoprodotti<\/strong> organici dannosi per l'uomo e l'ambiente, come i trialometani (THM) e le clorammine (4).<em><\/em><\/p><p>Il biossido di cloro, in quantit\u00e0 sufficienti, \u00e8 in grado di <strong>ossidare i composti fenolici.<\/strong> <em>(7): la contaminazione da BPA (bisfenolo-A) della plastica provoca danni all'organismo. L'unico gruppo funzionale del BPA \u00e8 costituito da due alcoli che, se ossidati, potrebbero rendere il BPA non tossico. Il meccanismo d'azione del BPA non \u00e8 ancora stato chiarito, pertanto il suo effetto non pu\u00f2 essere attribuito a gruppi funzionali.<\/em><\/p><p>Inoltre, il ClO2 non reagisce con l'ammoniaca o le ammine primarie e secondarie, evitando cos\u00ec di aumentare la richiesta di cloro nei sistemi di distribuzione. <em>(6)<\/em><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-e304891\" data-id=\"e304891\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-dd6ac48 elementor-widget elementor-widget-wd_text_block\" data-id=\"dd6ac48\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"wd_text_block.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wd-text-block reset-last-child text-left\">\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<ul><li><strong>Volatilit\u00e0:<\/strong> molto volatile allo stato gassoso. <\/li><li><strong>Solubilit\u00e0:<\/strong> una delle sue caratteristiche principali \u00e8 l'elevata solubilit\u00e0 in ambiente acquoso, che rappresenta un grande vantaggio rispetto ad altre sostanze come l'ozono.<\/li><li><strong>Liquefazione: diventa liquido a basse temperature, ma pu\u00f2 tornare allo stato gassoso a 11\u00ba.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Densit\u00e0: ha una densit\u00e0 superiore a quella dell'acqua e dell'aria.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Origine sintetica: non si trova in natura.<\/strong> Se mescolato in soluzioni acquose, pu\u00f2 essere dissipato da processi di aerazione, poich\u00e9 non si idrolizza. <\/li><li><strong>Colore: verde giallastro.<\/strong> <\/li><li><strong>Scioglie facilmente emulsioni e idrocarburi, in modo da poter attraversare gli strati batterici.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Biofilm: il ClO2 ossida la matrice polisaccaridica che lega il biofilm.<\/strong> Il biossido di cloro viene convertito in ioni cloruro, che a sua volta si divide in parti di biofilm che rimangono stabili. Quando il biofilm ricomincia a svilupparsi, si crea un ambiente acido che consente la nuova generazione di biossido di cloro e la completa rimozione del biofilm
